In honour of the 2008 Olympic Games you are to pick a sport (winter or summer) that best represents your country and doll an outfit to represent that sport.  The sport does not have to be an official Olympic sport ( I will accept ballroom dancing).

The outfit can be a uniform, a fan outfit, a cheerleading outfit, or anything that would portray the sport you choose.  Whatever sport you choose it must be obvious to the viewer.  Props are allowed!

In addition you are to create a stats card with a portrait in the same image.  The name, age, and sport must be written below the portrait as shown above (Arial font, size 8 or 9, Black).  The name of the country can be written in any style you choose.  For best results try to use the colours associated with the country in your creation.  Please follow the rules below.

Round 1 Rules:

  1. Portrait and full doll must be on one image

  2. No background images! Only small props allowed

  3. Image size must not exceed 250Wx300H, the smaller the better

  4. Portrait doll must  be dressed in a top of either Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, or Red (choose one colour)

  5. only entries with all of the required information as shown in the example will be accepted

  6. All entries will be accepted if minor rules are broken, however you will face deductions in your marks

When you are done please e-mail your entry to dollintl@yahoo.ca and include your name, doll's country, your URL, and base URL.

Reservations

A Maximum of 3 reservations/person.  All reservations will be cancelled at the deadline of round 1 stated above.  At this point the "Free-4-All" week will begin where anyone who still wishes to enter the contest can enter by choosing a country that was previously reserved or an available country and entering it.  No reservations will be required, firstcome, first served basis.

Voting and Judging

Public polls will determine people's choice award, Judges will score each entry out of a certain number of points (to be determined).  For 2008 and this round the poll will be worth 25% of the final round 1 score and the Judges' score will be worth 75%.  The top 75% contestants from round one will move on to round 2.

General Rules
  • doll must be female
  • no more than 3 entries per person
  • must provide a  valid e-mail address to enter upon requesting/reserving a country
  • image size limited to 250 w × 300 h pixel
  • absolutely no "frankendolling" or drag and drop creations
  •  base credit must be provided at all times unless it is your own base
  • all images must be .gif or format only (no bitmaps or .jpegs)
  • partial backgrounds allowed, otherwise image must be transparent
  • all the specified rules and criteria for each round must be followed strictly

Judging and Voting

  • voting will be done by public polls, and as indicated for each round may or may not count for a certain % of the final marks (e.g. 20-50%)
  • the judges scores make up a certain % of the final score for each round (e.g. 50%)
  • final results are made public at the end of each round
  • the percentage breakdowns will be given for each round

Things you should know before entering

  • this is a competition, so you may be judged harshly, critically, and in any other "lys" there is
  • if you have issues with your rank and results being displayed then this contest is not for you
  • judges are encouraged to not discriminate against beginner and novice dollers, so everyone has an equal chance.  The doller will be rewarded for the quality attempt, concept, and creativity of the entry.  If you spend quality time on the doll, then you will get quality scores.

What it means to win

  • You and your entry will be known for the year and in history as the Miss Doll International xxxx for the year entered
  • You will have to agree for your doll to be used in the layout for the next year's pageant (all credits will be given)
  • You are expected to promote the pageant in whatever way you choose as the ambassador for the year
  • As a winner you get first choice on any country you wish for the next year's pageant (you will be contacted first)
  • You officially have bragging rights for the year (use it)
